Educational Websites

I often download and use resources from various websites for fun activities to help with childrne's learning.  Below are some of the websites that I use frequently.

http://www.mathsphere.co.uk

Free maths worksheets in pdf format from years 1 to 6 that can be downloaded, photocopied and used freely.  There are products to purchase, free resources and online games.  Lovely printable lined and graph paper under the free resources section.  Children from reception enjoyed playing the games which includes working with money, adding and subtracting, multiplying and dividing, rounding up and down, fractions, time and much more.

Primary Homework Help for Kids - by Mandy Barrow

This used to be under Woodlands Junior School but the author has set up her own website called "Primary Homework Help for Kids".  Lots of games, activities and fact sheets for all ages of children.  One of my favorite is in the maths zone where we use the online times tables game.

Reading Eggs is a lovely app where children as young as 2 can learn to use a tablet or computer and play games learning to read and do maths in a fun way.

BBC Tiny Happy People

A great website with lots of ideas for activities with different age children together with support for families covering things like potty training, speech and language development, behavioural issues and many many more.  Lots of short videos to watch and every day ideas to incorporate at home.

Food, a fact of life

A free comprehensive website with educational and informative ideas, lesson plans, letters to send home to families, videos and recipes all based around food.  It is run and managed by the British Nutrition Foundation in partnership with the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board.

The lesson plans and ideas are broken into age categories and include information on where food comes from, how to cook and prepare food and healthy eating (including an Eatwell Guide)
