AUTUMN 2018 NEWSLETTER

So that’s another summer gone and the start of another school year upon us.  We’ve had a lot of fun this summer making beauty products, visiting Bockets Farm and The Lookout Discovery Centre and having fun days at home and various parks.  The children particularly loved doing tie-dye which we will definitely do again.

Leah will be starting reception this September and baby Max will be leaving us to start pre-school.  Baby Nell will be joining us in mid September and Nancy will also be joining us in September so it’s all change again.

Our topic for this Autumn term is Water.  We will also be looking at and talking about Halloween, Diwali, Remembrance Day, Bonfire Night, Hanukah, shortest day longest night and Christmas.

Our topics for the Winter term will be All About Me and for the Spring Term Colours.  To keep up to date with what we are learning please take a look at my website www.ilana-hill.co.uk.

We had another amazing FUN DAY at my house on 5 August and it was so lovely to see so many of you enjoying yourselves and getting to know each other.  We were very lucky with the good weather this year.

We are still supporting Wildlife Aid (www.wildlifeaid.org.uk).  We get a quarterly magazine from them if you would like to borrow it or have a flick through to see the good work that they do in helping our local wild animals. We also sponsor two dogs (Honey and Cheeky, whose pictures are on my fridge) through The Dogs Trust.  They send us letters and pictures periodically.

The main statutory change for many of us this year has been GDPR.  I have had to make some changes to to the way I collect and store your personal information and I have had to do an inventory of my systems to make sure they are secure and compliant.  I am pleased to say that everything is as it should be and the information that I keep regarding you and your families is stored and processed securely.

Here's to another great year of childminding.
